Nikon D300s DSLR

Nikon released a new DSLR yesterday and it is the D300s model, it is the upgraded version of D300 model which released almost 2 years ago. In fact, I plan to buy a new DSLR this year with this model in my options kit. Since Nikon released an upgrade version, I will spend some time to study the specification. Oh… not forgetting the price also. Unfortunately, I still couldn’t get any pricing yet from Nikon Malaysia website. If it fits my budget, I think I may go for it.

Those who know me may know that I owned a Canon 400D model, so why the hell do I ‘plan’ to buy Nikon? Eh… it is quite a long story but let me straight to the point. Initially, I was planning to buy Nikon but my colleague advised me that since I was a newbie, why don’t I get a second hand DSLR first and buy a new one later with the brand I want. So I took his advise and this is what happening now.

Anyway, below is the brief introduction of this new Nikon D300S model.

Tenji at Solaris Mont Kiara

Last weekend, my wife, her friends and I went to Tenji located at Solaris Mont’ Kiara for supper buffet, yeah, supper buffet, have you heard about it before? That was the first impression when my wife told me to have supper buffet at Tenji for only RM39.90++ per person. I heard a lot about Tenji but never expect to have this so called supper buffer because normally restaurant would offer lunch or dinner buffet. πŸ™‚

My wife made a reservation few weeks ago, so I thought we do not need to queue or wait or something like that but hey, I was wrong, even if  you have made a booking, you still need to queue up! By the way, the supper buffet start from 9.30pm to 12.30am, guess what, when we were there, at around 9pm, a lot of people already waiting there for the buffet, mm… something I just wonder why there are so many people out there spending money while the market is complaining. Anyway, since it was my first time there at Solaris Mont Kiara, I took some photos of that place and some shoots on the highway beside Solaris.

Putrajaya Night Scenery

I went to Putrajaya on Saturday night and took some photos on some buildings, the photos’ angle is quite good (of course from my standard πŸ™‚ ), but unfortunately I used a high ISO (1600) which caused the photos to have some noises. Anyway, this is just a practise session for me, hopefully I can improve more from there. πŸ™‚

Enjoy and photos and feel free to comment.

Broga Hill

2 weeks ago, my colleague and I went to Broga Hill, somewhere near to Semenyih. We went there around 4am in the morning, yes, you are right, 4am EARLY in the morning. All together there were 11 people, which including some of my collegue’s friend. The reason why we were there so early is because we want to take some photos on sun rise, but unfortunately, there were no sun on that day πŸ™ . It was a tired trip because I have been stopped exercise for very long time and we have to climbed up all the way to the peak to take the photo, imagine, you were carrying your heavy backpack (camera, water, food, etc) and the torch light, everything in the dark, climb from the nowhere to the top.

Here are some tips if you want to climb a hill in the early morning:

– Make sure you sleep before you climb, basically mean make sure you rest properly.

– Don’t eat too much before the trip, otherwise half way you will vomit πŸ™‚

– Bring a good and strong torch light, some chocolates and light food, of course, do not forget your water!!!

As usual, enjoy the photos and feel free to comment.

The Eye – Malacca

I went back to Malacca last weekend to see my daughter, since the Eye has been installed there and I missed the chance to go there when it was in Kuala Lumpur, I decided to bring my wife and daughter there to take some photos. But unfortunately, I forgot to bring my tripod, so some of the photos may not be as good as it should be. Anyway, I am still learning and still have chance to take the Eye again. πŸ™‚

Enjoy the photos and feel free to comment.

My DSLR Camera

Finally, I got my DSLR camera few days ago. It is a second hand Canon 400D with 18-55mm kit lens.  Yes, it is second hand, not a new one. Reason? Simple, because I am a beginner without much experience with DSLR camera. So in stead of getting a new camera, I decided to take my friend’s advice to go for a second hand DSLR. Once I have a better skill and $$$, then only I will get myself a new good DSLR camera. So as a starter, second hand Canon 400D is a perfect choice for me.

Below are some photos taken by my Olympus Digital Camera:

canon-400d-1

canon-400d-2

canon-400d-3

canon-400d-4

Oh, by the way, you may wonder why I buy another camera since I already have Olympus Digital Camera, right? I think the most important reason is that Digital Camera can’t really take a good quality photo. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying Digital Camera is not good, just that I need a better camera to take better quality photo. Another reason is probably the shutter speed of the camera, my current Digital Camera is very slow in term of the shutter speed, so DSLR is the better one in this area. Third reason, and I think should be the final reason, I like to take landscape and night photo, so DSLR meet my requirement perfectly.
